Alternawear Clothing began life as Alternatots, born from one woman’s obsession with fabric, trims, and all things alternative. I’m Julia — lifelong fabric hoarder, fashion grad, and proud punk-at-heart. What started as a mission to create unique, edgy clothing for kids quickly grew into something much bigger (and louder).

Back in 2007, after my daughter was born, I was seriously unimpressed by the sea of pastel onesies and bland babywear. Every so-called "alternative" brand offered nothing but slogan tees — no style, no fun, no personality. So I said screw it — I made my own. And just like that, Alternatots was born.

Fast-forward to today, and we're now Alternawear Clothing — expanding beyond just kidswear to create punk, goth, rockabilly, kawaii, and tattoo-inspired looks for everyone, from babies to badass adults. Whether you're looking for something bold, dark, retro, or just plain weird in the best way — you're in the right place.

After years of sewing everything in-house, we now work with trusted makers so we can meet demand while keeping our designs fresh and sustainable. Every piece is made-to-order, which means less waste and more room for creativity.

Many of our prints are exclusive to us — designed in-house by me and my small team — so you’re guaranteed a look that’s original, unapologetic, and never boring.
